ABOUT GMRIT


GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) was established in the year 1997 by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation – the corporate social responsibility arm of GMR Group – GMRIT offers aspiring engineers high quality technical education. Located in Rajam, Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, GMRIT provides its learning community state-of-the-art facilities, infrastructure and a competent faculty. The Institute encourages collaborative learning between industry and academia as a means of reinforcing its curriculum with practical and real-world experiences. It is this emphasis on a well-rounded education that makes GMRIT a preferred institute among engineering colleges in India.

ABOUT ACMW



Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world. To bring out the young talents in every woman, the ACM student chapter of GMRIT has started ACM women’s student chapter which is exceptionally for woman. This chapter will initiate various kinds of activities for the prosperity of all the women engineers in GMRIT and other surrounding institutions. If women understood and exercised their power, they could remake the world. Hence, to empower the upcoming future women engineers, the chapter conducts several activities to bring awareness on Computer science and use cases of Computer Science in real world apart from the curriculum among the student community.
There is no effective tool than empowerment of women for the development of a society. Within her, there is full power to create and transform, she is like a full circle. The main motto of this chapter is to empower women engineers and to enhance their talents and build their capabilities technically and non-technically too. Because women are no less than men in any domain in this present growing world, and an empowered woman is powerful beyond measure. The chapter is being led by a team of technology enthusiasts from both teaching and women student fraternity. Women are the real architects of the society and we should not rely on the success of other women but have to be the part of the change and attain success.
